What’s your biggest fear…the Goliath that you must conquer?

“Fear is never a reason for quitting. It’s only an excuse for those unwilling to face their doubts, insecurities, and mental boogie man.”

― Gary Ryan Blair

Most of live two lives.

The life we live.

And the unlived, magical life hidden deep within us.

What is it that compels people to be fearful?

Why do so many people surrender their dreams to the slightest whiff of adversity?

How is it possible for people to live an entire lifetime with very little to show for it?

For the majority of people…

It’s the desire for safety, refuge and security.

They choose to play it safe and remain in the comfort zone.

But the life you want…

The truly magical life that you want to experience…

Will only happen once you face your fears and slay your Goliath.

You must be mindful…

What is it that compels people to be fearful?

Why do so many people surrender their dreams to the slightest whiff of adversity?

How is it possible for people to live an entire lifetime with very little to show for it?

For the majority of people…

It’s the desire for safety, refuge and security.

They choose to play it safe and remain in the comfort zone.

But the life you want…

The truly magical life that you want to experience…

Will only happen once you face your fears and slay your Goliath.

You must be mindful…

If your goals do not challenge you, they cannot change you.

If the only goals you set are small, easy and convenient…

There will be no growth.

Nor will there be great reward.

That’s precisely why you need to take on your Goliath and slay it.

And, the bigger your Goliath…

The more powerful, confident and capable you become by conquering it.

The phrase “David vs. Goliath” denotes an underdog situation.

It’s a metaphor for a contest, competition or challenge…

Whereby a smaller, weaker and scrawnier opponent…

Faces a bigger, stronger and far more powerful adversary…

And against all odds.

Proves everyone wrong, and…

Emerges victorious.

How is that even remotely possible?

Look closely…

And you’ll notice something small yet meaningful.

“What good is a challenge or a big, ambitious goal if there is no willingness to overcome fear, mental and physical resistance, adversity, or self-doubt?”

― Gary Ryan Blair

The real significance of that story lies in understanding the HOW.

As in, how was David able to rise up and beat the mighty giant named Goliath?

David did not stand a chance..he was incapable of meeting Goliath’s strength, size and power.

But he was capable of outfoxing him.

He did that by adapting to the situation and deploying an unconventional strategy.

A simple sling and a stone thrown to the sweet spot of the forehead…

A small change in strategy and technology was what brought down Goliath.

David’s ability to rise to the challenge…

And adapt to this change in weaponry and strategy…

Proves that adaptability beats strength…

When strength does not adapt.

Perhaps this is a lesson you need to learn as well.

It’s not conquering the simple and easy that pushes us to new heights.

It’s certainly not overcoming the small that inspires greatness in others.

It’s about slaying the Goliath’s in our life.

Taking on and conquering the giants.

Confronting and overcoming our fears.

Redeeming ourselves by rising from our failures.

Staging a comeback and silencing our critics.

Breaking through our psychological brick walls.

And beating the odds…when all odds are against you.

That’s what changes you.

That’s what turns you into an unstoppable powerhouse.

That’s what makes you a far more capable and resilient human being.

That’s what inspires your friends, family and colleagues to step up their game and do likewise.

GRAB YOUR SLINGSHOT

Don’t let the size of the Goliath before you deter you…

From what you’re destined to do.

From where you’re destined to go.

And who you’re destined to become.

You were built for confronting and overcoming challenges and adversity.

It’s in your DNA as much as it’s in the DNA of a shark or an eagle or a lion.

You were made for tough times.

Destiny demands that you endure pain, suffering and inconvenience.

You must dig deep and fight for what you want…

And slaying your Goliath is the key to unleashing your greatness.

So, grab your slingshot.

Strengthen your resolve.

Slay what stands in your way.

Fear. Lousy Job. Failure. Abusive Relationship. Divorce. Disease….

Just like David who took on the mighty Goliath and won…

You are stronger, smarter and far more adaptable than any of the giants that stand before you.

Everything you want in life…

That’s right, EVERYTHING you want in life…

Will be found by rising to great challenge and slaying your Goliath.

You can. You will. You must.
